Ten years after Lehman and ten years after Nakamoto it became clear our current financial system is imperfect in many ways. Against the backdrop of emerging technologies, such as blockchain, the question arises if we have found adequate additions or alternatives to it. In this panel we will discuss the current financial system while looking at its risks and contrasting it to alternative ways and financial approaches. Are current frameworks still up to date? What changes are emerging financial technologies pushing for? What are far-fetched visions and what are realistic alternatives? How can we reconcile new technologies with existing infrastructure - through central-bank backed digital currencies? How do we change the enormous gap between infinite monetary value and finite resources?
