AI is at a crossroads. It has promise to greatly improve the efficiency of how civilization runs. The question is: who will reap the rewards of these gains, the masses or a small handful of elites? Alas, with the likes of Google and Facebook we are currently heading in a direction where the answer is the handful of elites. How can we better spread the benefits of AI to serve a broader swath of humanity?
